I LOVE that we have a fireplace to hang our stockings from. The two other homes we have lived in since we had the girls either had a wood burning stove or nothing at all. So, its a treat every year to hang the stockings from their reindeer hooks and decorate the entire thing. It never looks the same way twice... and frequently gets a makeover half way to Christmas too!
I found these stocking holders the first Christmas in this house five years ago at Target. Once upon a time, Target was a go to store for home decor items. Today? Not so much. I don't know if its me or them, but I rarely bother to make the stop. Its usually fruitless. Anyway, back to the subject at hand...
The trees are a craft the girls and I pulled together to give the display some height. I've had my eye out for some mercury glass but I haven't had any luck finding anything tall enough. This was our solution.
While I may love having a fireplace, I don't love the shape of it. I really should send it to Layla for a Pick my Presto.
New stockings may be in order too...
Don't you love the view in the mirror? Fortunately, when you are lounging on the couch it reflects a much prettier view, the tree itself.
Your trees are so cute and how nice that you made them as a family project. Perfect idea!
