A Few Years Later...

Oh my goodness...

Time just passed right on by! We have a new house and it has a new story. We are blending its story with our own as we speak. Lots of fun remodeling, redecorating, relandscaping, and generally re-everything.

So, let's begin again. Welcome to Sagebrush Ridge. Its all about family and a house that is slowly becoming our home. I thought the listing photos would be the perfect place to start. They always manage to make it look better than it really is, don't you think?

We chose a house in a great older neighborhood, close to the University where Miss K, our oldest daughter attends school, and close to Downtown (note the city and mountain views in the back ground). Our previous home was out in suburbia. Five roundabouts out! It just got to be too much. As you can see, we have a lot of work ahead of us. I told you, re- everything.  Not gonna lie, we are not looking forward to the siding and concrete work that we have ahead of us.

Here is a better view of the front. We have already made some changes. The front doors have been replaced, new trim, new mailbox, new porch light. That entry used to be so dark! French doors made all the difference. Next up, tackling the garage doors with a temporary makeover to tide us over until we are ready to do the siding and driveway. I have a vision, its just gonna require some patience, money, and time. Mostly patience while waiting for the money :) This is a cash deal guys!

Moving into the backyard. This is one of the main reasons we moved besides location. We needed a bigger yard. A Bernese Mountain Dog and a Landseer Newfoundland need more than a concrete courtyard and an unfenced grass strip. They love to be rough and tumble with each other, always the rambunctious boys! Now they have a place to be just that. But, we need a pretty and functional yard that has more than weeds growing for grass. Projects people, lots of them!

Cinderblock garden beds, round stepping stones... all gone. Mature trees, keeping as many of those bad boys as possible. We did lose the peach tree in the far right corner to some blight in the spring and the trees on the left have to be trimmed. They are blocking an other wise fantastic city view...

A city view that the realtors failed to capture except in the very first listing photo. This deck is off of the master suite. We already have a couple of adirondack chairs out here to enjoy morning coffee and evening wine. I call that a good start to sharing this new adventure!

Next up, the inside...
